My name is Janae' Javis. I am a Mechanical Engineer and an Industrial Designer with a BSME from the Georgia Institute of Technology and a BFA from the Savannah College of Art and Design. I take a multi-disciplinary approach whenever I design and utilize skillsets from my education and experience. I have engaged in deep dives into service design and user research; and I am comfortable blending different user-centered design methods. I am also able to breakdown complex systems, as well as conduct in-depth analysis to arrive at root causes, potential design opportunities, and solutions. On the engineering side, I can conduct research, perform analysis, create specifications, interpret graphs, build functional prototypes, and draw conclusions to drive design decisions. Currently, I am enhancing my skillsets in mechatronics and coding to expand the types of prototypes that I can build.
I enjoy fusing the two disciplines to create products that are functional, fit specifications, user-friendly, and suits the brand. My long-range goal as a designer and engineer is to develop products for the medical field that take into account the patient experience, the clinician's needs, the context/environment, and the functional requirements. I am currently building prototypes, working on Hackathon projects, and taking some classes. Feel free to reach out to me at janae@janaejavis.com, and I will respond as soon as possible.
